Information
and Worksheet Order Form
Updated
01/21/07. Information applies to all orders received
on or after this date. Information is good until updated.
Please email me with painting requests
after you've read the following guidelines. Thanks!
Flat
photos vs. digital reference
Remember,
better images deliver better paintings! Photographic
prints or digital images work well when your pet is
well posed and the photograph provides excellent detail
and, in the case of digital, are taken with your camera
set at high resolution. Inkjet prints simply do not work.
I take care to protect and return your original images
in good condition.
Tips when choosing the
right reference photo. Fill the your camera frame with
the head of your pet (do not crop the ears). Shoot your
pet at a slightly downward and slightly three quarters
view or angle. If shooing digital, please set your camera
at the highest resolution and provide me with your raw
and unprocessed images.
I'll let you know right
away if the images will work for a painting. Due to the
nature of my box construction, painting two pets into one
frame requires much more thought and effort. Your pet reference
needs to be captured under
the same lighting conditions and at the same basic scale
and position.
How
much?
The cost of a pet painting is
now $185 per piece (Single dogs and cats) plus shipping
which can range from $20 to $30 (depending on package weight
and where you live). Please email me if you have other
requests. YOU CAN NOW PAY ONLINE! Pay securely with a credit
card or paypal through my online
store!
Please email me with price requests
for any painting that require additional components, such
as doors, etc. Anything over the single pet in a box construction.
Thanks!
How
do I approve the finished painting?
Once
the painting(s) is finished I will email you a link
to a web page with images posted for you to approve.
Note that web
images lack much of the vitality found in the original.
Much of color, texture and detail are lost
in web page images.
When
do I pay?
You
pay nothing before
you are satisfied with the results. After you approve
the painting for shipping (approving digital images I
post online), I will pack and estimate the shipping costs
(Insured USPS Priority Mail with Delivery confirmation)
and email you with your total.
How
long do you take to create the painting?
Turn
around for a painting is generally one month or less,
but, like with any freelance work, I never know what I'm
doing from day to day... so email first to check on my
workload. Thanks!
