Jimmy Nelson's Instant Ventriloquism

Jimmy Nelson's Instant Ventriloquism and Ventriloquism For The Beginner
A Juro Celebrity Record JCR-101
Juro Novelty Co., Inc. 1964

Great cover. Well done recording. I wonder how many people actually got anywhere learning the art of ventriloquism using this instructional LP?  Not many, I suspect. The same deal applies to the instructional books you might buy as a comic book reading youngster to help you muscle up so that bullies would stop kicking sand in your face at the beach.

Ventriloquism, is like learning the guitar.  You can learn a few basics and then spend the rest of you life figuring out how play like people who practice for 12 hours a day every day.

Nice vintage recording. Now hold you lips together and say: "nnnnnnllllloooyyyy"!  I meant Enjoy!

From the A side: "Remember, you can't rush ventriloquism!" But wait!  The album cover said INSTANT!

HA! As if this is something you might be able to learn by listening rather than seeing technique. Very fun! Love the cover. Many people find ventriloquist dummies quite creepy! I am sitting here trying the teeth together and lips parted thing and trying the alphabet....O & U make you move your lips automatically.

Actually, I first learned ventriloquism using this same record and thousands of other ventriloquists did the same. Of course, most probably went on to learn from other sources as well, as did I.

But I gave my first few years performances using nothing but this album and hours of practice. And made some money on the side as well.

I'll share this link with some others and maybe you'll get an idea of how many agree with me.

You most certainly can learn ventriloquism using Jimmy Nelson's record however if you personally lack the talent and discipline it takes to do so then nothing is going to work for you.

Well, that was kind of mean, John Dean.

I also disagree with your review of Jimmy Nelson's album. Some of the top ventriloquists in the world started by using Jimmy's album.

I said... not many... I didn't say not anyone. You're missing my light-hearted point of an "Instant" learning vs. the reality of the educational experience.
