This was a great commission because the client wanted something fun. She had an idea that the cats would be changing outfits. At first I wasn't amused... but I learned a long time ago to allow ideas to sink in see what happens. Almost always the work is better because of the relationship. Only youngsters fresh out of art school get really pissed when clients mess with their work. I can only suggest that you don't take the comments personally... work with your client and you'll be better off in the long run. So... what came out of this exercise was an interactive wall hanging that tells a story that goes way beyond your typical pet portrait.
