My wife done left me. She done left me
And she took everything I had but Christmas
I used to be merry and bright
But she packed up the house and left me tonight

I gave her everything that I had
A picture of Jesus my momma gave me and a keepsake from my Dad
I used to be merry and bright
But she left me on Christmas tonight

The joint bank account. Well... that’s withdrawn
She took our mad money and stole the santa off on my lawn
May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be alright

The car I paid for. It’s packed up with Christmas gifts
My old hound dog is in the front seat tied to the stick shift
I used to be merry and bright
But she left me on Christmas tonight

There she goes she’s very disturbed
Our holiday dishes won’t fit so now they are smashed on the curb

Because I got some bad news tonight

Jesus works in mysterious ways. He’s alright
